How to Make Kefir Milk


  • 1-2 tbsp natural Kefir grains
  • 1 quart cow or goats milk
  • 1 liter jar
  • lid for jar or clean cloth
  • plastic strainer
  • plastic spoon
  • cup

    1. Place the kefir grains in a jar.
    2. Add the fresh milk.
    3. Cover the jar.
    4. Place jar in a room temperature of 18oC – 25oC (65oF – 77oF) and away from direct sunlight.
    5. Leave for 1-3 days.
    6. Separate the kefir from the kefir grains. - Now you have your milk kefir
    7. The last step is to drink your milk kefir.
    Note - For the milk you can use cows, goats, sheep, even camel and buffalo milks. 


      1. Mmm, I didn't know about this.. Sounds a bit like yoghurt.

      2. yes your right, kefir and yogurt has the same concept but they aren't exactly the same :)
