How to Make Kratom Tea

Kratom Tea

The Mitragyna speciosa is a potent tree that grows naturally in several Southeast Asian countries, specifically Thailand, Malaysia and Myanmar. The plant belongs to the coffee family, although it does not have caffeine and is much more powerful than coffee. Also called kratom, the Asian tree is most popularly known for its leaves, the kratom leaves. Kratom is marketed all over the world, including the United States, as a substitute for opium, organic pain reliever, and herbal cure against hypertension, diarrhea and depression.

The most common side effects users of the substance experience are mild to moderate constipation, temporary erectile dysfunction, nausea, vomiting, and sleep problems. On the other hand, extensive use of the herb can cause more serious side effects such as insomnia, dry mouth, anorexia, and weight loss.

Since kratom is considered by many as a dangerous drug, it is not widely available in the mainstream medicine market. It is sold in tobacco shops, head shops and online. Users of kratom chew the leaves, take it in capsule form or drink it as tea. Native users of kratom consumed the leaves in the jungles of Asia the same way. They crushed raw leaves to boil, chew or smoke. They consume kratom in order to strengthen themselves for the hunt. As they got home, they sipped another cup of kratom tea to renew their energy in order to enhance sexual activity.

Here are a few tips when preparing kratom tea. First, take 50 grams of dried kratom leaves and place them in a pot with 1 liter of water. Gently boil for 15 minutes. Strain the bowl and keep the liquid for some time. Squeeze the leaves to make sure all its contents are taken out.

Second, pour a second liter into the pot and boil the leaves a second time. Strain the boiled leaves again but this time, discard the leaves afterwards.

Third, mix the liquid from the first and second liters and boil yet again until the amount of liquid is reduced to only 100 ml or less if one wishes the tea to be more concentrated. The lesser the liquid, the more bitter it becomes. Drinkers are advised to gulp quickly or add slices of fruit to improve the taste. Some choose to add alcohol, not only to improve the taste but also to allow for longer preservation.

Discover why people are getting more and more into the kratom tea craze. Remember that the tea intake is dependent on the user’s own preferences.
